Author & Artist Ivan Fraser

Ivan Fraser... artist, photographer, author and storyteller was born and raised in Nova Scotia. He uses watercolors and photography to share quiet inlets as well as the awesome power and majesty of the sea. His latest paintings take you back in time to the good old days of Peggy's Cove.

With his work portraying wonderful light, "serene, peaceful, and ethereal" are perhaps the most common words used to describe his images. With the ocean in his front yard and the woods at back, Ivan has developed a great love for nature. Collectors from the Maritimes, Canada and the US have purchased his work.

Ivan's latest endeavor is bringing Peggy's Cove Legend to reality through song, books, dolls, museum and storytelling. His popular Childhood Home Museum and exuberant storytelling is capturing the hearts of those hungry for details of the mysterious and charming Peggy. Ivan has blended historical facts, family and friends from around the Bay into Peggy's life, classifying his novels as Historical Fiction.

All Peggy of the Cove books and the song have been approved by the Nova Scotia Dept. of Education for placement in schools. Ivan's presentations to students and teachers are amusing and educational. Responses from students can be read at the museum.

Diane and I wish to thank you for the great hospitality you provided us yesterday, by giving us a history lesson on Peggy of the Cove and a tour of your lovely museum. We were quite impressed by the work you have done especially the painting of the house... a real eye catcher.

I started to read your book titled, Secrets - Peggy of the Cove, on the flight back to Ottawa and find it very enjoyable.

We will be recommending a visit to your museum to any of our friends who decide to visit Peggy’s Cove by showing them pictures that I took.

By the number of picture takers at Ivan's Childhood Home Museum, it's no doubt the most photographed house along the Peggy's Cove Road. Inset shows a young lady really getting involved while her family admires the mural. Ivan just happened to be coming back from a walk on Moser's Island and had his camera. These folks were pleased to have an after hour tour of the museum. Great ending to their day.
